Hey Dave! Do I have to title my blog?!

Transitions: When does one end and another begin? Finding oneself when life's changes catch you unawares.

It's Not the Yellow Dress

It's Not the Yellow Dress

My parents called this morning  to let me know that some pictures arrived in their email.  They thought that this was a very old picture of me when I was a young teenager.  That just made my day.

My daughter is much more vibrant, creative, athletic, artistic, and confident than I ever dreamed of being.   She wears a rustic necklace with one word on it.  It doesn't say things like:  Girl's Rule, Number 1, The Best,
Super Cool, etc.  It says "Pure".

If you know my daughter, you know  that it isn't the yellow dress that draws us to her. You can tell that she is pure by the way she interacts with others. It's in her eyes.  It's in her smile.  It's in her enthusiasm.   It's in her speech.  Because she has chosen a disciplined life of purity she is free to be who and what she wants to be; to be who and what she CHOOSES to be.

I am flattered to have resembled my daughter outwardly, however, I would be honored to resemble her inwardly.
